What an AI Zoho Partner Actually Does

An AI Zoho Partner is still a Zoho Partner. The difference is scope: the work centres on AI features inside Zoho apps, not only modules and workflows. A useful AI Zoho Partner starts with the process that costs you money or time, then picks the lightest AI layer that can help.

That work usually includes:

• Mapping the process, owners, exceptions and the KPI you want to improve.
• Checking data quality, field ownership and which records an AI may see.
• Choosing between native Zia, Agent Studio, MCP, Deluge, Flow or a mix.
• Configuring permissions, approvals, logging and a human handoff.
• Testing normal, empty and failure cases before go-live.
• Training users and agreeing how the system will be reviewed after launch.

The Five AI Layers an AI Zoho Partner Should Cover

1. Zia in Zoho CRM

Zoho's CRM Zia page lists predictions (for example churn scores), recommendations, call transcription summaries, Vision AI and intelligent character recognition that maps image data into record fields. Ask which of these your edition supports and which fields they will use as inputs.

2. Zia Agents and Agent Studio

Zia Agents and Agent Studio are for goal-based, multi-step work: instructions, knowledge, tools and guardrails. Zoho also publishes an Agent Store with hireable agents. 3. Zoho MCP with ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

Zoho MCP connects language models to Zoho APIs, data models and actions. Zoho says it works with LLMs such as GPT and Claude, and that other AI agents are supported out of the box. Gemini is commonly set up through a custom MCP client such as Gemini CLI; Zoho's own pages name Claude and GPT more clearly than Gemini. 4. Zia LLM and BYOK

Zoho describes Zia LLM as a proprietary model in 1.3B, 2.6B and 7B sizes, hosted on Zoho's private infrastructure. Zoho lists the 7B size as coming soon. For generative features, Zoho's Zia generative AI page says Zia works in two ways: Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) from an OpenAI account, or Zia's native generative AI. Document which path you use and where data is processed.

5. AI workflows with Deluge and Flow

Deluge custom functions still power deterministic logic that AI should not invent. Zoho's Functions limits page says full Functions access starts at Enterprise for CRM. Zoho Flow can call external AI tools and also ships built-in Zia utilities for tasks such as rephrase, summarise, extract and classify, without a separate AI subscription. A useful partner uses Deluge and Flow for the fixed parts of a process and AI only where judgement is needed. See our Deluge beginner guide.

Data Privacy: What an AI Zoho Partner Must Get Right

Privacy is where the partner proves they are careful. From Zoho's own pages:

• Native Zia LLM: Zoho says the model runs on Zoho's private data centres and your business data stays with you (Zia LLM page).
• Generative AI: Zoho says Zia works with BYOK (your OpenAI key) or native generative AI (generative AI page). With the ChatGPT option, data is processed by OpenAI; with native Zia, it stays in Zoho's path.
• Zoho Flow: Zoho notes that when you use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and similar tools in a flow, data is sent to that provider; Zia utilities keep processing inside Zoho (Flow AI comparison).
• MCP: tool permissions decide what an external model can read or change. Start with read-only tools.

Practical rule for any AI engagement: keep personal and financial customer data on native Zia where possible, and put every external model behind written permissions and logging.

Ask for written answers to these nine points before you sign:

If two or more red flags appear, ask for a revised plan. A partner who cannot explain the layer choice and the privacy path is not ready to touch live data.

Licence prices are set by Zoho and vary by country. The table shows Zoho's official US dollar list prices and India rupee prices from the Zoho CRM pricing page, per user per month. Local taxes (GST, VAT or sales tax) are extra, and other regions may see different local prices.
