Zoho Books Implementation Partner for GST-Ready Indian Businesses
A Zoho Books implementation partner sets up GST, migrates your data, connects your banks and apps, and trains your team so your books are right from day one.
This page explains what an implementation covers for Indian businesses, what you and your CA provide, and how a phased rollout works. Features and prices were checked on Zoho's India pages in November 2026.

Short answer
A Zoho Books implementation covers GST settings (GSTIN, tax rates, HSN/SAC, place of supply, e-invoicing, e-way bills, TDS and TCS), chart of accounts, opening balances, data migration, bank feeds, Zoho Payments, user roles, CRM sync, training and post go-live support.
Codroid Labs configures Zoho Books; your chartered accountant keeps tax decisions and return filing. Our fees are quoted after a free discovery call.
What a Zoho Books Implementation Partner Does
In short: A Zoho Books implementation partner configures GST, migrates your data, connects banks and apps, trains your team and supports you after go-live.
Owners and accountants describe the same post-signup problems: wrong tax rates on half the items, opening balances that never tie up, bank entries matched by hand, and staff who all log in as the admin.
A Zoho Books implementation partner prevents this by configuring the organisation before the first live invoice. The job covers tax, data, banking, controls, integrations and people.
- GST and direct taxes: GSTIN, rates, groups, HSN/SAC, e-invoicing, e-way bills, TDS and TCS.
- Data: chart of accounts, opening balances, customers, vendors and items.
- Banking and payments: bank feeds, reconciliation rules and Zoho Payments.
- Controls: user roles, approvals, transaction locking and the audit trail.
- Integrations: Zoho CRM, Zoho Inventory and Zoho Projects where needed.
- People: role-based training, go-live support and AMC.
Zoho Books Setup Service vs Full Implementation
In short: A setup service covers the basics in Zoho Books; a full implementation adds migration, integrations, controls, training and support.
Not every business needs the full scope from a Zoho Books implementation partner. A small trader may only need a Zoho Books setup service; a multi-branch firm needs a full implementation from a Zoho Books implementation partner.
| Area | Setup service | Full implementation |
|---|---|---|
| Organisation profile and GSTIN | Yes | Yes |
| Tax rates, groups and HSN/SAC on items | Yes | Yes |
| Invoice and quote templates | Yes | Yes, with branding per location |
| Chart of accounts | Standard accounts | Mapped to your CA's structure |
| Opening balances | Trial balance only | Trial balance plus open invoices and bills |
| Data migration | Customers, vendors, items | Masters plus historical transactions if needed |
| e-Invoicing, e-way bills, TDS, TCS | If applicable | If applicable, tested end to end |
| Multiple GSTINs and locations | No | Yes |
| Roles, approvals, workflows | Basic users | Custom roles, approvals, workflow rules |
| Integrations | Zoho Payments | Zoho Payments, CRM, Inventory, Projects |
| Training and support | One session | Role-based training plus AMC |
GST Configuration by a Zoho Books Implementation Partner
In short: GSTIN, tax rates and groups, HSN/SAC, place of supply, multiple GSTINs, e-invoicing, e-way bills, TDS and TCS are all configured in Zoho Books settings.
Zoho's tax settings help for India describes each setting below. As your Zoho Books implementation partner, we configure them; your CA confirms the values.
- GSTIN: enter the 15-digit GSTIN and fetch registration details. Composition scheme and reverse charge on sales are separate options.
- Tax rates and tax groups: create rates and group taxes together where a combined rate is needed.
- HSN and SAC: add codes to every item and service. Zoho Books uses item HSN codes when it applies GST rate updates.
- Place of supply: stored with each customer and vendor address alongside the GSTIN, so the right tax type applies.
- Multiple GSTINs: with locations enabled, every active location must be linked to a GSTIN. Customers and vendors can also hold extra GSTINs per address.
e-Invoicing: Zoho's e-invoicing help says Zoho is a registered GST Suvidha Provider, so Books can push invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal and receive the IRN and QR code. The comparison page lists e-invoicing from the Standard plan.
e-Way bills: Zoho's e-way bill help says you can create e-way bills for invoices, bills of supply, credit notes and delivery challans in Zoho Books.
TDS and TCS: per Zoho's Income TDS help, TDS rates live under Settings, Taxes and Compliance, Direct Taxes, applied at line-item or transaction level. TCS rates are set up as described in the TCS FAQ.
Whether e-invoicing, e-way bills or TCS apply to your business is your CA's call. A Zoho Books implementation partner sets them up and tests them once that call is made. See our Zoho Books e-invoicing, GST setup and TDS in Zoho Books guides.
Accounts, Migration, Bank Feeds and Zoho Payments
In short: Chart of accounts, opening balances and imported masters come first; bank feeds and Zoho Payments follow.
Chart of accounts: a Zoho Books implementation partner should start from Zoho's defaults and add only the accounts your CA needs for reporting. Fewer, cleaner accounts make reconciliation faster.
Migration: Zoho's migration guide says imports accept CSV, TSV and XLS files. Whether you move from spreadsheets or another accounting package, we export, clean and import customers, vendors, items and open transactions. See migration to Zoho Books.
Opening balances: any Zoho Books implementation partner will ask you to enter the closing trial balance on the go-live date, plus open receivables and payables, so ageing reports are correct from day one.
Bank feeds: the comparison page lists bank and credit card feeds from the Standard plan. We add transaction rules so routine entries match themselves. See Zoho Books bank reconciliation.
Zoho Payments: Zoho's Zoho Payments help says Indian businesses can collect INR payments by UPI, cards and net banking, with bank feeds set up to track payouts and fees.
Users, Controls and Integrations
In short: Custom roles, approvals, transaction locking and the audit trail keep the books clean after go-live.
Controls decide whether the books stay clean after the Zoho Books implementation partner leaves. Plan availability below is from Zoho's plan comparison for India.
| Control or integration | Available from | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction locking | Standard | Stops edits to closed periods |
| Custom user roles | Professional | Sales staff cannot see payroll or bank |
| Sales and purchase approvals | Professional | Invoices and bills checked before they go out |
| Workflow rules | Professional (10), Premium (200) | Automated reminders and field updates |
| Zoho CRM integration | All plans | Sales and finance share customer data |
| Zoho Projects integration | Professional | Project billing and timesheets |
Every change is recorded, so the audit trail must be reviewed as part of go-live. See our Zoho Books audit trail guide and data backup guide.
Zoho's CRM integration help says sales teams can view outstanding receivables in Zoho CRM. For CRM rollouts, see our Zoho CRM implementation services. Stock-heavy firms should read Zoho Inventory vs Zoho Books.
Zoho Books Implementation Partner Phases and Deliverables
In short: Five phases: discovery, configuration, migration, testing and training, then go-live with AMC.
| Phase | What happens | Deliverable | Timeline (Example only) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Discovery | Review your process, GST registrations, branches and current software | Scope document and plan choice | Week 1 |
| 2. Configuration | GST, taxes, HSN/SAC, templates, chart of accounts, roles | Configured organisation | Weeks 1 to 2 |
| 3. Migration | Import masters, opening balances and open transactions | Reconciled trial balance | Weeks 2 to 3 |
| 4. Testing and training | Test invoices, e-invoices, e-way bills, TDS, bank feeds; train each role | Test log and training sessions | Week 3 |
| 5. Go-live and AMC | First live month supported, then ongoing AMC | Go-live sign-off and support plan | Week 4 onward |
Each phase ends with a sign-off. Timelines depend on data volume, GSTINs and integrations. A Zoho Books implementation partner should agree them in writing after discovery.
What Your Business and CA Must Provide
In short: You and your CA supply GST details, the closing trial balance, open invoices and bills, and sign-off on tax settings.
| Item | Who provides it |
|---|---|
| GSTIN(s), registered addresses and composition or regular status | Business |
| Decision on e-invoicing, e-way bill and TCS applicability | CA |
| TDS sections and rates used for vendors | CA |
| Chart of accounts preferences | CA |
| Closing trial balance on the go-live date | CA or accounts team |
| Open customer invoices and vendor bills | Accounts team |
| Customer, vendor and item lists with HSN/SAC | Business |
| Bank account details for feeds | Business |
| Users, roles and approval limits | Business owner |
| Sign-off on tax settings before go-live | CA |
The Role of Your CA (and Your Zoho Books Accountant User)
In short: Your CA stays in charge of tax advice and return filing; we configure Zoho Books to match their decisions.
Hiring a Zoho Books implementation partner does not replace your CA. Your chartered accountant stays in charge of tax advice and return filing. Codroid Labs does not file GST or TDS returns; we configure Zoho Books so your CA's decisions are applied correctly.
Even the free plan includes a separate accountant user, so your zoho books accountant can review entries without sharing the owner's login. Many CA firms already use Books, and a zoho books consultant can set up their access; see Zoho Books for CA firms.
A good zoho books consultant works alongside your CA, not instead of them. That split keeps responsibilities clear.
Zoho Books Pricing in INR
In short: Zoho Books runs from a free plan to ₹7,999 per organisation per month on Ultimate, billed annually, plus GST.
